O Gigante Marcelino
"O Gigante Marcelino" is the first children's book that I wrote and illustrated, the idea came after spending some time with a four-year-old boy called Bernardo, who grows a little more every day, and whose growth I am very happy to see .
The biggest expectation I have for him is to see him become a generous,
empathetic and kind person
The book tells the story of a giant who, like Bernardo, is just a boy, but who is shunned by all the other children because of his appearance, which frightens them. Nobody ever wants to play with him, and at one point Marcelino even considers leaving planet earth to find someone to play with on the moon
After several attempts in which Marcelino always ends up being rejected, and after realizing that he doesn't know any astronaut who can take him to the moon, the giant loses hope. It is in this moment of immense weakness that Bernardo appears in the story, seeing the giant as a boy like him and wanting to play with him, unlike all the other children.
This is a short book, with a very direct lesson and specifically designed to accompany Bernardo and encourage him to always be this boy in the book
